At a time when stress levels are extremely high, I would like to offer you some pointers to make peace a part of your daily life.
Most people schedule their day in such a way that there is no break, "no breathing time", as the expression goes.
It's important to give yourself even just a few moments once an hour to restore your energy, especially if you are someone who finds that after lunch or by mid-afternoon, you are ready for a nap.
Everything is about energy, and if you find yourself running out of it, take a moment to begin to renew it, just by taking three very deep breaths. If you do this once an hour, you will find that you are able to concentrate even better and accomplish more every day.
Getting away from that task or from your computer to get a glass of water after the deep breathing is even better for you.
Keeping your mind off the news or any negativity by finding a relaxing place to go to in your imagination, even for a few minutes can be equivalent to taking a mini-vacation.
So try these few ways of being good to yourself on a regular basis, and if you need help to learn how to control stress completely, make an appointment to come in for one session to clear your body, mind and spirit.
I am here for you. Dr. Viviane Carson
